Video Pre-Planning

Objectives: To create a video that helps raise awareness to the growing need of sterilizing cats. In sterilizing them and keeping the population growth from getting out of control over the past 10 years, Cat Welfare Society has managed to prove that sterilization has proved to be a beneficial solution.

Filming During the meeting, we talked about actually arranging meet ups with various personnel’s involved in various events like, trappings, neighborhood sterilization, adoption drives and such. We were thinking that we could head down to the event location and film the event in general and compositing it into a video to show viewers of the Cat Welfare Society how they were helping by donating.

Stop-motion

Using a method called modular origami that was designed by Ranma Zushiki, we decided to have the model ‘magically’ construct itself through various methods used in stop-motion. We had this idea because such methods has become less popular and are practically not seen anymore. We figured, it’d be an interesting take to show the intricacies and detail in creating a little model that represents the modern day community cats that we see around in our neighborhoods. Above is a video that is has be done by ‘Rig Soh Ming Yi’ prior as part of his own projects. It demonstrates our idea of making a video that closely replicates that.
